remakes- a challenge !

Share
it's an arduous task of living up to the orginal but r film-makers want to give it a shot . remakes is not about not being innovative and short of ideas but its challenging and risky.
a spate of remakes will be released this yr !
the first ever remake will be Farhan Akhtar's 'Don' .
it's the new age Don and the promos look quite interesting but not thrilling. let's wait and watch if Srk can recreate the magic !
J.P. Dutta's 'Umrao Jaan' is also being talked abt with ash-abhishek in the lead. hopefully this movie will be more than looks and costumes !
Ram Gopal verma- the new age film-maker and trend-setter will remake hindi film industry's biggest film of all ages 'SHOLAY' .
this is sure going to be criticised as nothing can match the original script-writing , songs, direction, cinematography, action sequence and the well-carfted characters-gabbar,veeru,jai,basanti,thakur,samba...............

on the whole, none of them look promising but movies are meant for enjoyment and reviewing.
so let's wait and watch !

RDB goes to the oscars !

RDB is all set for the oscars. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra has crafted a beautiful movie which will be appreciated world-wide ( if it impresses them ).
it's Aamir's second movie to go to the oscars after 'Lagaan'.
there were lots of debate and polls conducted to survey which movie fits the bill for the oscars.
apart from RDB, we had shakespeare's adaptation of 'Othello'- 'Omkara' by Vishal bharadwaj, Rajkumar Hirani's 'LRM' and Mhadhur Bhandhrkar's 'Corporate'.
i personally felt RDB is the right choice as it is a movie made for the present gen of India with his rebelliousness, bindaas attitude and a tinge of patriotism.
y always showcase India as a country with bullock-carts and village belles steeped in superstition ?
let's create an India of the present and expose it to the world .
RDB will rock at the oscars !
